Trinket Photography

The above picture is a small taste of the photography style I have learned over the years. It's a simple trinket statue that I own. I edited the picture some with Picnik, which has now been shut down.

It's funny how photography is sometimes not considered an artwork now. Back before the digital age of PhotoShop, every picture was considered a masterpiece. Now if you don't know how to edit a photograph, you fail as a photographer. What ever happened to the "perfect shot", the one that never needed any editing, or any embellishments?  I will admit, this picture was not the best at the beginning, but then again what picture is when the mindset is "I'll edit it in PhotoShop"? I suppose what I'm ranting on about is, the art world has decreased it's need for raw talent, and has embraced its capabilities of fooling the consumer.

Please tell me what your opinion is by leaving a comment.
